My Gear

I shoot Nikon and I am a huge advocate for the brand. While I have never subscribed to the belief that a camera brand makes a photographer, I do believe the brand instills trust and confidence in the photographer. Throughout my photographic career I have grown and learned with the Nikon brand. All of my camera bodies and lenses are Nikon. While I have a broad range of Nikon gear, I generally keep my specific shooting assignments simple using only a couple of lenses and bodies for each shoot. I do believe that certain lenses work better with certain subjects. For this reason, I always assess my assignment prior to arriving on location to determine the right tools for the subjects at hand.

The world of camera gear is evolving quickly and requires awareness and flexibility to remain the best photographer I can possibly be. Currently the world of photography is transforming to mirrorless. The mirrorless camera has been a game changer for every photographer, including me. The mirrorless cameras are not only lighter and nimbler, they provide creative abilities to the photographer that could never have fit into even the best photographer’s workflow.
